1.Are fingerprint door locks affordable?

Fingerprint door locks are the latest, coolest technology  that allow ordinary people the ability to open doors with their fingers. Finally, our world has caught up with Star Trek and this technology is currently reliable and affordable. A few years ago fingerprint locks were extremely expensive, not very reliable and only seen on CEO's homes and those rockstars mansions on MTV Cribs! Not anymore! Now any 13 year old kid who doesn't want their parents taking away their guitar... can finally afford to keep them out! While that may not be the best description of the benefits and uses of fingerprint door locks, it is to show that fingerprint door locks are now affordable... and cool.

2.Do fingerprint door locks have real life benefits?

Fingerprint door locks are not only cool in space, on a rockstars house, or a 13 year old kid, they are cool and extremely beneficial wherever you install one! Why? Because they have never experienced anything like this! Imagine coming home with your hands full of packages and don't want to have to fumble around for the right key, instead, you can wiggle a finger free and put it on your new fingerprint door lock... presto, the door is unlocked! Now imagine not ever having to look around for your keys when you are leaving.... then while your out, never worrying about losing them! We all know someone in our family or friends that is ALWAYS losing their keys. This entire fear is obsolete when using a fingerprint door lock. You will really enjoy not having to worry about your keys. Soon, you will have this feeling and let me tell you, life gets easier, problems about keys don't occur and eventually, you will feel that your fingerprint door lock is a good purchase, possibly the most convenient one you ever made!

3.How do you open fingerprint door locks?

Most fingerprint door locks have 3 ways to open them: mechanical key override, keypad-code, and fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader is good for normal users, the keypad can be used for one time entrance by visitors, and the mechanical key override can also be used in case of emergency or dead battery. You really don't have to worry about a dead battery because most versions come with a 9 volt battery attachment on the outside for emergency uses, and most also have another battery for fingerprint storage so after changing the batteries, you don't have to enroll all the fingerprints again.

4.What applications do fingerprint door locks go in?

There are 3 basic fingerprint door lock applications: springlatch, deadbolt, and mortise. Springlatch locks are the most common type of inside door lock, they are on most inside doors like bath rooms, closets, offices, etc. To know if your lock is a springlatch, push in the latch and if it is spring-loaded, that means it is a springlatch. Next is a deadbolt, a deadbolt is most commonly found on the front doors of homes. Is  more secure than a springlatch lock, but only available for certain applications. The last kind of fingerprint door lock is the mortise latch. This is a commercial style latch found on most commercial locations that need higher security and also have higher use, therefore, this highly secure and durable latch is the choice for high-tech, highly secure environments. Most fingerprint door locks come in the springlatch versions, but there are still deadbolt and mortise models made.

5. How secure are fingerprint door locks?

The security is the same as a normal springlatch, deadbolt, or mortise door lock, however, using biometric technology, another name for fingerprint technology, is added security, also, there is not a normal key slot, is  a specialized key override that most fingerprint door locks have, making it unpickable. Some fingerprint door locks have an auto-lock feature makes the lock behind you, automatically, this feature can be disabled, but is really a great feature!

6.Are fingerprint door locks easy to install?

Honestly, it depend... The springlatch and deadbolt models are pretty easy to install. Most are a clean swip-swap, they might require 1 or 2 holes drilled, but come with easy to use drilling templates. Usually, the mortise fingerprint door locks need to be routed out and professional installation is recommended. If you are completely non-handy person, you can probably call your local locksmith to install it between $75 and $100, but most people can easily install fingerprint door locks.

7.How many fingerprints can fingerprint door locks hold?

Amazingly, most hold at least 75 and other models much more. Installation is easy, most require 'admin' fingerprints to be programmed in first, then they can register new fingerprints and delete them if needed. Regular fingerprints cannot add or delete new fingerprints.

All in all, these top 8 questions should help you decide if a fingerprint door lock is right for your application. My conclusion is that fingerprint door locks are good for homes, offices, apartment complexes and many other applications where the owner wants increased security, ease of use and convenience of not having keys.

8.Why should i chose biometrics fingerprint technology?

Fingerprint technology represents the largest and most proven segment of the Biometrics Industry today. Fingerprints are no longer James Bond technology that only the FBI or CIA use. In many cases it is more cost-effective, convenient, and reliable than traditional locking systems. You can use it for your home and/or your business. And you don’t need an engineering degree to make it work!

9.What’s the benefit of using fingerprint safe?

The fingerprint safe is the latest, high security product that gives you the benefit of no combination to remember, no keys to find, nor to change, and don't worry to forget the password .Fingerprint recognition is the most practical choice because of its safety, reliability, non intrusive interfaces and the cost effectiveness.

There are many benefits of fingerprint safe. Life is getting more security. You will enjoy not having to worry about your keys. You don’t have to worry about forgetting your combination numbers. You don’t have to be afraid that somebody knows your combination numbers. You will realize that your fingerprint safe is possibly the most convenient thing you ever made.

The use of fingerprint safe is easy. For example, most fingerprint safes have two ways to open: the mechanical key override and fingerprint reader. The mechanical key override can be used the dead battery or other emergency case. The fingerprint reader is good for normal users. Some fingerprint safes have an auto-lock feature that makes the lock behind you automatically.

The fingerprint safes are perfect for homes, offices, hotel and the other applications where you want to increase security, and ease of use.

10.How secure the fingerprint safe is?

Keys, cards, passwords are not secure as duplicates or copies can be passed from one individual or another. Fingerprints share one thing in common; no two prints are the same. You cannot create a finger print to match another. Only the registered finger prints will be able to open the safe.

11.Safety of Fingerprints

The following major features are characteristic of human’s fingerprints:

Human’s fingerprints are of unique features. According to experts of fingerprints, the repetition probability of human’s fingerprints is one 5 billionth, and the accuracy and complexity of features are sufficient to meet the demand of extremely difficult identification;

With diversified selections, everyone can select more than 10 fingerprints;

It features to be steady and of reliable read access;

Collection of fingerprints is of non-destructive and non-sensitive collection which can be easily accepted by people whose fingerprints are collected. Fingerprints required by Digi Lock must be in vivo. Therefore, the safety is improved to some extent.

 12.How many fingerprints does the EKOO fingerprint safe hold?

Ekoo Fingerprint safe can store up to 36 different fingerprints.

 13. How long does it take to input my fingerprints

Less than 10 seconds.

14. Years for use of fingerprints and correct method to input fingerprints

The resolution of fingerprints of Ekoo door lock is 500pdi, which can be used to identify fingerprints of children above 5 years old. The correct method to input fingerprints is: Press the Initialization button on the back cover and release. The buzzer will beep once with red light blinks once on the scanning window, Place any finger in proper position on the sensor when the red light is flashing, a long beep is heard followed by green light, move the finger on the sensor again when the red light flashes again, 2 beeps are heard followed by green light blinks twice indicating a fingerprint is properly registered to be able to unlock the safe

15.Can anyone enroll himself and have access to the system?

No. Only the person first can open the safe ,and press the Initialization button on the back cover .

16.If my finger gets dirty will it still work?

The finger print sensor uses RF techniques to collect data from below the skin therefore; its "reading" ability is not affected by dirt. It is advisable however, to wipe dirt and sand off, prior to swiping, to avoid scratching the sensor's protective glass surface.

17..If I cut my finger will the unit still work?

The system reads sub-dermal (below the skin) fingerprint data therefore is tolerant to small cuts and skin blemishes. It will not however, read through a bandage.

18. Can someone "steal" my fingerprint and use it in "Identity theft" scam?

No. Your fingerprint is NOT stored in the system. The data collected during swiping is used to extract a mathematical expression of the features that make your print unique. This mathematical representation is what is stored in memory. This method is both economical (small memory requirements) and secure (unable to duplicate the actual fingerprint).

19 How does the safe powered??

There is no external software or hardware needed. Safes runs on 4 x AA battery. One year battery life under normal use. For opening a door 15,000 times in normal cases.

20.What if the battery runs out?

You can use the mechanic key ,our mechanic key is the only one ,nobody can duplicate it ,if you lost the key ,just we can help you equip the same key according the number

21..When battery runs out of electricity, will fingerprints or codes be lost?

The chip used to save fingerprints and codes in Ekoo Door Lock is operated without electricity. When the capacity in battery is not sufficient, the alarm for low voltage will appear. Even after battery runs out of electricity, fingerprints or codes won’t get lost either

22.How can I conserve battery life

The system goes to Low-power "sleep" mode after 10 seconds of inactivity; in this mode minimum power is consumed. Whenever the system is active (display on or driving the lock) it consumes maximum power. Avoiding "waking up" the system unnecessarily will extend battery life.

23.How do I know when battery needs to be changed?

When batteries need replacement, the system emits a warning beeping sound after locking or unlocking the door. It will give you about 4 weeks warning before the batteries go flat. When accessing the bolt, the motor will sound "straining" under low battery condition

24.How do you change the battery

It’s simply and easy. Press the on battery cover button (inside of door), slide the battery cover upward and remove it, you can see one hole at each side, and inside each hole there is a button for setup.

25.If someone must stop use the fingerprint safe , what should I do with their fingerprint?

Individual fingerprint can be deleted at any time.

26.Does Ekoo Fingerprint has an overriding key?

Each Ekoo fingerprint lock has one pair of overriding key for emergency use.
