Fingerprints are no longer James Bond technology that only the FBI or CIA use. In many cases it is more cost-effective, convenient, and reliable than traditional locking systems. You can use it for your home and/or your business. And you don’t need an engineering degree to make it work! Biometric security offers the surest way to verify an individual's identity. It is the science of using biological properties, such as fingerprints, voice patterns, retinal and iris scans, faces, and even the chemical composition of an individual's perspiration, to identify individuals to some form of database. The technology, such as ekoo fingerprint biometrics, verifies conclusively that individuals really are the persons they claim to be. We are asked many times questions regarding the uniqueness of biometrics such as fingerprints. No one has reliable data for the whole world and cannot therefore say that any biometric is truly unique. What we can say is that the probability of finding identical fingerprints within a typical user base is extremely low and certainly enough to be regarded as a reliable identifier. ID/Mifare/HID cards without biometrics have an inherent weakness in that the use of such a card does not prove the legitimacy of its use by the holder. The loss, theft or lending (buddying) of non-biometric cards can lead to access by unauthorised personnel who are not required by the access control system to prove they are who they say they are. ekoo fingerprint biometric solutions overcome the inherent weaknesses of standard ID/Mifare/HID cards. The following major features are characteristic of human’s fingerprints: Human’s fingerprints are of unique features. According to experts of fingerprints, the repetition probability of human’s fingerprints is one 5 billionth, and the accuracy and complexity of features are sufficient to meet the demand of extremely difficult identification; With diversified selections, everyone can select more than 10 fingerprints; It features to be steady and of reliable read access; Collection of fingerprints is of non-destructive and non-sensitive collection which can be easily accepted by people whose fingerprints are collected. Fingerprints required by Digi Lock must be in vivo. Therefore, the safety is improved to some extent. Identity theft is a crime in which an imposter obtains key pieces of personal information in order to impersonate someone else. The information can be used to obtain credit, merchandise, and services in the name of the victim, or to provide the thief with false credentials. In the access control environment, using another person's swipe card is identity theft. Incorporating fingerprint biometrics in the access control system eliminates this form of impersonation and provides full verification of identity. The are no issues with the Data Protection Act. ekoo fingerprint biometric solutions use a captured image of the enrollee's finger, not a forensic print. This captured image is converted to a template and held in a binary format. Once the template is stored in the system the data cannot be extracted or reverse-engineered to produce a print. Every cardholder can use the system without fear that they have DNA stored in the system. Ekoo Fingerprint access control can store over 100 different fingerprints. The resolution of fingerprints of Ekoo access control is 500DPI, which can be used to identify fingerprints of children above 5 years old. The correct method to input fingerprints is: “1+#”+ master code + “#” + fingerprint + “one sound of Di”, one fingerprint is generated after it is input for two successive times; at this time, the next fingerprint can be input. No. Only the master user is authorised to enroll new users. The finger print sensor uses RF techniques to collect data from below the skin therefore, its "reading" ability is not affected by dirt. It is advisable however, to wipe dirt and sand off, prior to swiping, to avoid scratching the sensor's protective glass surface. The system reads sub-dermal (below the skin) fingerprint data therefore is tolerant to small cuts and skin blemishes. It will not however, read through a bandage. No. Your fingerprint is NOT stored in the system. The data collected during swiping is used to extract a mathematical expression of the features that make your print unique. This mathemetical representation is what is stored in memory. This method is both economical (small memory requirements) and secure (unable to duplicate the actual fingerprint). Ekoo fingerprint access control can be connected to magnetic lock, alarm, and door bell. And also ekoo fingerprint access control has Normal Open & Normal Close function. In the event of an emergency, if you set the device as Normal Open, or cut of the power, ekoo fingerprint access control system will be overridden and doors automatically opened. With many access control systems the person or user does not have to be present for access to be granted. This immediately jeopardises the security system as anyone could have found a swipe or prox card or seen a PIN and so gain access easily. The ekoo fingerprint access control system stops this compromise. As fingerprint biometrics provide unique identities, the enrolled user must be present to present for verification to occur. By far, Ekoo fingerprint access control system could not be combinated with CCTV or intruder alarm system, but we had ever had a case that when some stranger verifies, the device reject its identification, after several seconds, CCTV monitor would turn to record his/her action. However, software will be designed to allow the system to interact with both types of systems in the near future, and also some other companies' professional software engineers can design this kind of software with ekoo SDK. a. The lens of the device sensor is broken. In this case, you can change the sensor or the lens. b. The light of sensor is too strong to validate fingerprint. Please change the sensor. c. It is only the sensor that doesn’t light when you press your fingerprint. Please check if the device is set to 1:1 match. The item path in the device is: menu > option > system opt > adv option > only 1 to 1. If the item is “Y” please change it to “N”. If the item is “N” or the sensor still doesn’t work, you have to change the sensor. d. If the sensor too dirty to collect fingerprint well, please clear it by scotch tape. a. The connection way is TCP/IP, if it cannot connect the device, please try to ping the IP of the device. If successed, please check the connection setting in your software, the IP has to be the same as the device’s and the pass key (the item path in the device is: menu > option > comm. Opt > comm. key) is the same as device’s. If failed, please check the net wire and the net item (menu > option > comm. Opt > Ethernet) is open. b. The connection way is RS232/485, if it cannot connect the device. Firstly, please check if the connection way is OK (you could use another well device to test). Secondly, please check if the connection way’s item is true, the item path in the device is: menu > option > comm. Opt > RS232 or RS485. Thirdly, please check the Baud Rate is the same between device and software. c. All setting is correct (the other device could connect rightly if you operate it in the same way). You have to contact us for repairing the communication port. Please contact our technical support to solve this problem, we can help you update it. You have to give them the detailed problems, the firmware version, series number (menu > sys info > dev info > firmware ver and series number), and also the device name and the device language. a. LCD’s light is too strong, but it could connect the software. Please check whether the “power on” button is correct. If it is ok, please contact our technical support to help you update it; if no use, please send it back. b. LCD shows wrong code, please contact our technical support to help you update it and solve the problem. if the update or advice of our technical support is no use. You have to change the LCD. a. The device always restarts. The hardware (main board or core board) is broken, you have to return it for repairing. b. The device cannot startup. Please check whether the power port is broken, if so, please contact us ask for a replacement of the port for you or you have to send it back to repair. a. There is no “check out” but the report shows it’s one hour later, please click the attendance item below the Maintenance/Option. There is an option: If no check out counts as ___ mins. Some report question if for it. Please notice if you get any question like it. b. There is manual in the software CD when you get the product, please play the CD to find it which will help you operate the software. c. The software need the code to be played, please delete a file in the software folder. It is Attlic.hdd in the attendance software folder and Attlic.hac in the access software folder. d. The software has to be activated by device, or it could only be used for one month. e. The software ask for the Keycode. If it is attendance software, please delete the file named Attlic.hdd in the software's folder. If it is access software, please delete the file named Attlic.hac in the software's folder. Individual fingerprint can be deleted at any time. You can unlock door by password or RF card. Yes. It’s DIY. All of ekoo fingerprint access controls are no more difficult to install if you operate them according as user manuals. Directly input 0 and save. Products is under free one year warranty. Warranty can be extended to three years. |
